Directions

• Advocating for all landholders/individuals/organisations and their sustainable GLM of the Desert Uplands
• Acting as a broker with individuals/groups/orgqanisations that could benefot the region by connecting local Desert Uplands peoples’ needs with suitable knowledge, resources and services
• Acting as abroker by taking local knowldeg and promoting to outside world of how we care and how we look after Desert Uplands region and bringing needed outsode knowledge into the Desert Uplands and dispersing it to landholders
• Contunualy gathering local knowledge for use in identifying what the Desert Uplands people need/want to manage profitably, viably and sustainably

Strategies

To act for the whole of the Desert Uplands community by:

Strategy 1

Protect and improve the environment and natural resources

Protecting and improving the environment and natural resources necessary for sustainable and viable grazing production in the Desert Uplands.

Strategy 2

Find and progress technical, digital and economic systems

Finding and progressing technical, digital and economical systems that will benefit sustainable and viable Desert Uplands production systems.

Strategy 3

Identify ways to continually gather local knowledge and information in a two-way communication process

identifying ways the Desert Uplands Committee (DUC) can easily and continually gather local knowledge to use in decision making for what DUC does as a two-way knowledge broker of information.

Set up the necessary relationships and partnerships so they work to benefit all
